EUROPEAN SELECTS 2012

The Scanlon Creek European Selects Tournament team provides young players with an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of scouts and coaches from numerous organizations across North America. Playing in heavily scouted showcase tournaments is a great start to being recruited by a U.S. or Canadian hockey program. Showcasing players in the spring allows us to start player promotion early, providing players with more options for the upcoming season. PLAYER PREPARATION:

Our all inclusive program is a formula for success! When an athlete is preparing for an important performance, being able to focus on the task at hand is crucial. We provide our players with accommodations, food and transportation. From the time you get picked up at the airport until the time you get dropped off all logistics are taken care of, right down to hockey tape and skate sharpening. We want our players to concentrate on their game; we take care of the rest. Players who are looking to get noticed during a showcase have to look their best, preparation is very important. In preparation for the tournament the Selects benefit from pre-tournament practices with light dry land and stretching as well as basic team systems that will help conditioning and team chemistry. Players coming from overseas will need time to get rid of the "Jet Lag” and get used to the smaller ice surface.

PLAYER PROMOTION AND PLACEMENT:

A player’s performance is the first step to his success, but often players will need a recommendation or first introduction to really get a team interested. Years of coaching and playing professional hockey have helped us develop relationships with many scouts and coaches, some of whom are personal friends.
We work hard to promote our players.

• Player profiles are made and distributed throughout the tournament for scouts.
• Programs are informed well ahead of time about the European Selects and that they should take the time to scout the team.
• Personal Meetings with Coaches and Scouts to promote players.
• We will also take the time to educate our players on how to interact with coaches and scouts.

Many leagues will have representation during the tournament, such as:

CHL / USHL / EJHL / NAHL / AJHL / CSHL / Empire / CHA / Prep Schools and others.

Many NCAA college coaches are also in attendance throughout the tournament.
